Mexican labor laws are different than in many other countries, so should your business in Mexico employ any worker keep in mind the following:
- Annual vacations of at least six workdays after one year of service. This increases at the rate of two workdays a year for the next three years (12 vacation days a year). In subsequent years, add two workdays of vacation for each five years of employment.
- After one year of employment, workers get annual bonus equal to 15 days of wages (paid before December 20 – "el aguinaldo"). Those workers employed less than one year get a prorated bonus.
- Dismissing employees with cause includes unauthorized absences from work within 28-day period.
- Holiday and vacation pay, social security medical insurance, aguinaldo and severance pay are all required
